Spring Break Day 1-3

Hey everyone! Just as promised, here is the run-down of my kickass spring training with Ashley!

Day 1 - Friday the 10th:

After lunch we got the pleasant surprise of one Gina Bator. It was great to see her again and it'll be even better when she comes up for a weekend again!! (Shaking Fist) Well after a quick hangout that included an Ocarina, Smash Brothers, and Stephen Lynch, it was time for me to go.

Me and Ashley hit the road and we arrived at my house around 6ish. After a nice "homecooked meal", Chinese Food, we settled down for the night and went to bed early. Now is the time where you read that and say..."HAHAH Greg and Ash go to bed early? Riiiiight." But in reality, we did. But only because we had to get up at 8 in the morning so that we would be able to get up at 6 the next morning.

Day 2 Saturday the 11th:

So we were up early (MISERABLE but up) so we headed out to Wal_mart for some last minute supllies. Well $100.00 later, i had all me last minute supplies... :P

So we were off to Ashley's house and we again had a great "homecooked" meal viz 'Nick's Roastbeef'. After hanging out with Courtney (Ashley's sister) and her friends, we again hit the hay early because...........WE WERE GOING TO FLORIDA IN THE MORNING!!!!

Ok so the above CAPS statement basically sums up how much sleep i got That night.

Day 3 - Sunday the 12th

Anyways, after an extremely restless night, i went into Ashley's room to wake her up bright and early (6:00am) on Sunday Morning. And yes...i had a death wish. But i didn't care if Ashley hated me for a good two hours after she woke up (which she usually does), cuz i was going to FLORIDA TO SEE THE RED SOX SPRING TRAINING!!!

Ok sorry about that...

So we jumped on the Logan Express and arrived at our jetBlue check-in right on time! So when we got there, we stood in the only other line minus "International Flights." After about 25 minutes or so, we find out that we are in the wrong line, and we needed to be in the International Flights, because obviously, Boston to New York to Florida is an International Flight. Don't ask...it's Logan Airport...

So now we play the waiting game, after going through security and having to take our shoes off, SOOO weird. And now we sat in the terminal watching our plane get loaded and anxiously waiting to board......TO GO TO FLORIDA!!

Well the time came and we boarded the plane. Our flight was going to JFK in New York first for an hour lay-over, but it was kinda cool seeing the New York airport too. After a short time, we boarded the plane set for Florida, and we were again on our way!

After a slightly bumpy ride (one that you forgot about because jetBlue has individual TV's in the headsets of all the seats....SO COOL!) we landed safely in Fort Myers, FL, and we quickly met up with Grammy and Grampy Taylor.

We collected my 49 pound bag (it's florida, i assumed id be going through like 3 outfits a day....i didn't know they had a washing machine at the house...shut up) and we took a nice long walk through the parking lot, because i think they found the farthest spot from the terminal. But no biggie.

After a quick car ride, we arrived at the Wonderful Elderly Ville house, (AJAX was def there!) and we started to unpack and get acquintted with the place.

After visiting briefly with Ashley's cousin, our vacation was in full force! We went for a bike ride around the villa to see the Gater. We checked out the shuffleboard courts. (which later that night i lost horribly to Ashley and Grampy. Gram was on my team and I'm almost positive she hated every minute of it...hehe.)

We headed back to the house after the shuffleboard game and had Ice Cream and started the puzzle that would keep us entertained for the week. Heh oh what a life it was!

After a little Tv, it was off to bed early, because tomorrow....

WE WERE GOING TO SPRING TRAINING!!!!

*Tune in later next week when i continue with our kick ass vacation!

Spring Break

Hey everyone. Just sitting here at my computer...still coming down off the incredible high that was my spring break!

As you all (should) know, I was able to go to spring training this year, thanks in large part to my AMAZING girlfriend and her EXTREMELY generous parents (who paid for our flight) and grandparents (who let us stay with them in Fort Myers).

So here I am, with a virtually expense-free spring break with my girlfriend....who get this....is actually excited to spend spring break watching the Sox and being autograph hounds! I LOVE HER SOOOOO MUCH!!! I mean honestly...Ashley Perkins is friggin perfect!

But I digress. :p

So I am currently working on my sports writing article which I should be posting here later, along with a run-down of daily activities/summary will be posted later too!

Anyways, here is the teaser for my up-coming post. The top ten Interactions that I had with Sox players!

10. Kevin Youkilis doing a backwards wave to me after I yelled.
9. Mike Lowell waving as he ran by.
8. Adam Stern pointing as he warmed up.
7. Alex Gonzalez waving and giving me the peace sign.
6. Johnny Pesky sitting out for about an hour everyday to sign anything put in front of him.
5. Luis Tiant waving to me after I shouted out to him.
4. Al Nipper saying "Good, How are you?" to me after I asked him how he was today.
3. Trot Nixon walking straight to me after warm-ups to sign autographs.
2. Gabe Kapler being an extreme gentleman to the crowd and meeting him twice.

1. Having Peter Gammons talk to me like he would talk to ESPN about the Red Sox.

AMAZING!!!

Tune in next week for the more updated post!

What the hell am I going to do with the rest of my life?

Hey everyone! Long time no see! Sorry I haven't had a SOLID update in awhile. It's not that I have been {that} busy, I just haven't been inspired lately. But I was sitting here bored and I opened up blogger. Then I was like...I need to update, but I didn't know what to do. Then I thought I would update you on what's going on in my life, and it spawned a few thoughts. So here goes!

***So first off, Steve and I have a kick ass radio show now! Everyone listen from 10am-12noon every Sunday to the Musical Fusion Show on WQRI 88.3!!! We have a lot of fun doing it and would appreciate the support!!***

Ok so I'm officially not going to have a summer! YAY! Heh, actually I'm pretty damn excited over it, because for the first time in my life I have a REAL job! No more Walgreens bullshit for me! I can finally close that chapter of my life for good and say goodbye to everything (and everyone) Walgreens!

I don't know everything about the job yet, but a close family friend got me an intern ship with the Government! It's 40 hours a week, $11.00 an hour, and its a desk job. Yea you might think it's boring, but I can't wait. I actually love desk jobs! If I get bored, SO WHAT!? I'm getting paid to sit at a desk! Anyways, its sounds like a great job so far (from what I can know right now) it's actually one of those jobs that I can't tell people what I am doing!!! How kick ass is that!

So that's awesome and it will possible give me an idea of what I may want/not want to do with my life. Having said that, here is where my post is going now!

I also took the "Do What You Are" personality test at the RWU career center site. And here are the results:
(Please not the items in BOLD. I feel that these items are extremely important in describing me.)
Understanding you, Gregory
People like you are usually easygoing, friendly, and happy-go-lucky. You are curious and outgoing so you meet new friends wherever you go. Active, talkative, and uninhibited, you have fun at whatever you are doing and seem to bring energy and life to any situation. Naturally down-to-earth and unpretentious, people love your sincere and generous nature. You have a lot of friends, and love to laugh, and you rarely like to sit still for very long. You may also enjoy animals, being outdoors, and playing sports or other kinds of games. You are very observant and like to surround yourself with objects of beauty. And you love surprises!

You are also sensitive, affectionate, loyal, and devoted to your friends and family. Rarely do you see anything but the most positive qualities in other people, so you may be disappointed when people aren't as nice as you think they are. You have a big heart and feel things deeply, even if you don't always show it. Responsive and spontaneous, you don't like a lot of rules restricting your freedom. But you are sometimes disorganized and find yourself running behind on projects. You are easily tempted by any opportunity to do something fun so you may unintentionally let other people down, though you are quick to apologize as well as forgive. But while you are flexible and casual about many things, when it comes to your personal values, you may hold your ground with surprising strength.

Note: Based on our assessment, your personality type is "ESFP."

Your Strengths and Blindspots
Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. The key to finding the best path for all people is by using their natural strengths and becoming aware of their natural blindspots.

Your strengths may include:
* Easily establishing rapport with people and selling yourself
* Having energy and enthusiasm for things you enjoy or are interested in
* Asking good questions and getting lots of information
* Demonstrating your adaptability and ability to get along with all types of people
* Being responsive to questions by providing enough relevant details

Your blindspots may include:
* Not adequately preparing for all of your responsibilities
* Not considering new possibilities that haven't come up before
* Not following through on important details
* Not conveying a serious enough interest in what you are involved with
* Being too impulsive and not thoughtful enough when making decisions

As I was reading this I realized that they summed me up almost perfectly. I wish I had this summary awhile back when I was trying to describe to everyone who the real Greg Walsh is.

Those bold points are insane! I believe that is a fairly accurate portrayal of the person I am, or try to be. I mean come on!!??
You have a big heart and feel things deeply, even if you don't always show it.
