The Concert

Well folks we did it. Chuck and The Wet Bandits took home the trophies! On Sunday, June 26, my band rocked Cataloni's in Rockland with an amazing set that went a little something like this:

  1. Thunderstruck - AC/DC
  2. Jessie's Girl - Rick Springfield
  3. Easy Lover - Phil Collins
  4. Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
  5. I Want To Rock - Twisted Sister
  6. Eruption/You Really Got Me - Van Halen

It was by far the best concert we have ever done, and I want to thank everyone who showed up and voted for us. The best part was, after playing the "Rock and Roll High School" for about 2 years and competing with 18 and under kids, we were bumped up to the "Weekend Warriors" and we had to compete against the 50 and under bands, AND WE WON!!! Once again thank you to everyone who showed up to support me and my band, you have no idea how much that meant to me! THANK YOU ERIN, CHRIS, WILLAMS, MEGHAN, AND ASHLEY!!!

In other news, Ashley Perkins is Awesome. The lovely Miss Perkins visited Weymouth this weekend to attend the concert. She came up Saturday afternoon and then we went to my cousin's Grad party and Ashley got the first dose of the Gage Family, she passed with flying colors. After the party, I had to go to band practice, so she played monopoly with my brother and Chrissy, much to my surprise (sarcastic) they were still playing when I got back. After the grueling game, Jonathan, Chrissy, Ashley and I went on a double date mini-golf game. But as much as Ashley wanted to, she couldn't beat me. Do to a choke act on the 18th hole I squandered my lead and ended up in a tie with Ash, (I didn't want to sleep on the couch that night :P) After grabbing a bite to eat, it was time to call it a night. Ash and I ended up talking the entire night and it was everything I thought it could be. Which brings me to my next point. Communication. If you want any relationship to succeed, all you need is communication. Ash and I have gone 7+ months without an argument and I credit this to our wonderful communication. Any relationship, couples or friends, need communication to survive because through speaking to each other, you develop trust and understanding. Ash and I talked into the wee hours of the morning and it was one of the most amazing nights I have ever spent with her. She learned a lot about me and I the same, all because we are honest with each other and we have GREAT communication! This concludes my speech on communication, now go out and talk to someone right now! You may learn something you never knew!

After the concert, we all hung out at my house and busted out the Oueji board and spookiness ensued. (seriously, who was moving it?) But then everyone had to leave except for Willams (who did eventually have to leave.) But before he left, Willams and I talked until 12:30 and found out how insanely similar our lives are. We both can relate to each other and that is awesome. By the way, Willams is awesome.

Well that concludes my journal entry, I was a little random tonight. I think Erin rubbed off on me a little this weekend!

R-Dub Crew Weekend

Hey hey people. Glad to see you tuned in to another spectacular edition of Greg's Journal. Anyways, let's get started.

***First off, due to the start of filming on the G&N Production of Terminator 3 1/3, I cut my hair....A LOT! I apologize to everyone who is effected by these actions.

So this weekend, I went to Wenham to visit Ashley and Erin. Erin decided to make the trip up from CT to room with her roomie for a couple of days. On Friday, we hung out with ALL of Ash's friends and we ended up playing Car Tag around Hamilton/Wenham. Me and Erin weren't a great help seeing as we didn't know the area, but we had a lot of fun. After that, Erin, Ash and I stayed up until 4:30 talking about anything and everything. God Bless "Erin Talks". We woke up around 11:00ish on Sunday and eventually got together with Steve and Willams at Jordan's Furniture. It was SO awesome to hang out with the R-Dubbers again, (we missed everyone else too!!). We window shopped and checked out the furniture and BOSE store. After meeting up with Meghan, we went to singing beach. It was very nice, Ash and I went knee deep in the water......bad mistake, heh, very cold. After sitting around singing various songs in the moonlight, we decided to leave after and gang came up to us with wiffle ball bats asking if we had seen someone run by. We said no, and left. Then Erin called it a night because she was exhausted. So Ash and I got to stay up and have some alone time. It was great because I hadn't seen her in two and a half weeks, and yes that is a record for us! Anyways, I had to wake up and reluctantly take off to make it to work at 2. But all in all it was a wonderful weekend in Wenham as usual!

On another note, Seeing as it is father's day, I got to thinking, while walking around in Jordan's furniture, I realized how much I honestly want to buy a house, get married, and have a family. Then I realize that I honestly DON'T want all that yet, because I would be, in a way, ruining my life. I wouldn't be in college anymore, and I absolutely LOVE being in college. I would be married...let's not talk about that. Heh, and of course, I would have kids. Granted, I can not wait to be a Dad someday. But the truth is, I am not ready to be a father yet. As much of an adult I seem to think I am right now, I am far from being mentally ready for my own child. That and I want to live my life before I'm ready to give it up for my kid(s). But walking around in Jordan's looking at all the furniture, just really made me want a house/family of my own. It was a lot of fun looking at everything and imagining it in "my house" for "my family". So until the day comes when I am ready to settle down, these dreams will stay safely locked up....in...my online journal.....for everyone to read. Ok, maybe I should be deleting this last paragraph, :P.

Well that's basically it, as usual, leave a comment if you want to make me smile.

Weekend Wedding

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't posted in awhile, but....there hasn't been any real news. Well I just got back from a family wedding down the Cape. My cousin Jimmy, my mom's godson, got married on Saturday and my mother's entire family showed up. The awesome thing was, the place were they were getting married was less then 2 minutes from our cottage in Dennisport. So I spent the weekend with the fam and just like old times we spent our weekend doing nothing but sleeping, swimming, and watching the sox. The wedding was awesome, they had the ceremony on the beach, way too cool! And then I just mingled with my extended family. It was great to see everyone, and everyone was a little shocked at how I have changed. (physically and personality wise). I was decked out in a Hawaiian cowboy hat, sunglasses, a Hawaiian shirt and khaki shorts and sandals. Coolest wedding I ever went to!!

It was also good to see my cousins, whom I haven't seen in about a year. They have really grown and matured and its slowly coming to my attention that we (my generation) are growing up. We are becoming adults whether we want to or not. Seeing everyone treat me like an adult was really special. I am maturing and I think I like it. I still have my sense of humor and my love for goofyness at times, but I know when to kid around and when to have more adult humor. I love entertaining adults and seeing the surprised look come across their faces when they realize I am not just a kid anymore. I really like it.

On a completely unrelated topic, My band is going to be playing in about two weeks. Chuck and the Wet Bandits will be gracing the stage at Hajjaar's in Weymouth, 1 minute up the road from my house. Although this is not definite yet, we are pretty sure that's were we will be playing. I will continue to keep you posted.

And in closing, I feel compelled to say something to a very special person in my life..........

To the hobo that lives across the street from me. His courage is an example to us all. Stay in the game buddy! I'm rooting for you!

Oh and Happy Seven Months to that girl im going out with I forgot her name. :P

But seriously, I would like to say happy seven months to the wonderful Ashley Perkins who has changed my life ever since she walked into Cedar 430 that day back in September. Thank you for the best 7 months of my life! I Love You Ash.

Ok now that I forced you to read that......muhahaha oh the power.....I would like to say goodbye. Leave any comments you feel compelled to leave, I always appreciate it when I know someone reads this.

The Perkins' House: Episode II

Well here I am, home again and for the second time in as many weeks, I am writing about my wonderful "weekend" at the Perkins' House. This trip however, was a little bit more difficult. You would think that my story would start with me getting there....but no. Friday night I try and go to bed early....that never works. So I don't fall asleep until 2:30am. It wouldn't have been a problem if I didn't have to get up at 7 to go to work. I work from 8am to 1:00 and I was going to get out of work early so I could catch the 2:15 train to Wenham. Well my boss, who NEVER works Saturdays, is working and won't let me leave early. So I leave at 1:00 and run over the the Braintree T station and get on the train at 1:30. I am clearly behind schedule but if everything goes well I could make it. Well after waiting in the train for 10 minutes because the driver didn't show up for his shift, we depart. Around Downtown Crossing an announcement comes on saying that the train is breaking down and Park Street will be the last stop. That's fine cuz its the stop I'm going to, that is until I realize that EVERYONE on the train will get off there. After waiting in line to get to the green line, I break out of the massive crowd of people and start booking it! I get to the train stop and there are two trains waiting. PERFECT!! Something went right. So I run toward them and the first one starts to leave. Whatever, there is another. I get to the train and the lady closes the doors and I'm standing at the driver's window. I motion to her that I want to get on. She looks at me, shakes her head and then hits the acceleration. So I stand there for about 10 minutes looking dumbfounded and not believing that that just happened. Then I spot a Citizen's Bank ATM so I figure I should get some money out. I check my balance and find out that I have -74.43 in the account. At this time, 2:15, I realize that it is pointless to try and get to North Station to catch the 2:15 train. So I continue to look dumbfounded and start walking back toward the Red Line so I can get home. I really think that this would be a great scene from a movie because the only way I can describe the look on my face was "..........wtf.......".

After this wonderful encounter with the MBTA, I head home so that Ashley, Ellen, Jay, Haley, and Sarah could pick me up at my house. Once they got here, we went to Providence, RI to see Water Fire. Funny seeing as I lived in RI for about 8 months and I never went there. Water Fire is basically about 50 campfires in the Providence river. It was pretty cool, but got old pretty fast seeing as how tired I was from the wonderful day I was having. We left around 11:30 and got home at 1:00. Well being the cool kids we were, me and Ash went right to bed and slept until 10:45.

On Sunday, Willams and Meghan Elizabeth Flynn came over for the Star Wars Marathon cuz Ash had never seen the Star Wars movies. We went to bed around 6 am Monday morning and woke up at 12 to watch the last movie. Then we hung out for awhile and eventually went to bed at 12.

On Tuesday, me and Ashley we chaperoning Corky's school Whale Watch. Even though this was the enitial reason my trip to Wenham was planned, this was the most useless day of my life. The trip sucked, it was cold, rainy, the sea was choppy, and we saw maybe two whales. The only good thing was that I was able to hang out with Court and her friends, who are pretty cool people in my opinion.

After the trip Ashley took a nap for about two hours and I watched Sportscenter and packed my bag for my return trip home. I had a Hot Dog dinner with the Perkins Family and watched the Sox game.......it was awesome! Well it came time to get on the train so I departed for home. All in all, it was a great but tiring weekend. I had so much fun and it was great to be with Ashley, but I am going to be way too tired for a couple of days! Of course I'm going to be tired cuz I stayed up way too late having fun so it was worth it. Hehe. Anyways, I worked today from 2-10 and I will do the same tomorrow.

Well thats about it. As always comments are always welcome.
